The Economic Development Partnership announces new board members

 

The South Montgomery County Woodlands Economic Development Partnership (EDP) has recently elected new board members for the 2006-2007 term. The South Montgomery County Woodlands Economic Development Partnership (EDP) has recently announced the newly-elected board members for its 2006-2007 term.

The new board members include Shelley Waters of Merrill Lynch as chair, Jonathan Homeyer of Wells Fargo as vice-chair, Mike Karlins of UHY Advisors as treasurer, Clyde Parker of Winstead Sechrest & Minick P.C. as secretary, and Michael Barnhill of Entergy/GSU as immediate past chair.

Other board members include Commissioner Ed Chance of Montgomery County Precinct 3, Karen Hoylman of The South Montgomery County Woodlands Chamber of Commerce, Kent Johnson of The Woodlands Resort & Conference Center, Dan Leverett of The Woodlands Development Company, Nina Marino of Keller Williams, Stephen Miller of Jones Walker, Don T. Norrell of Community Associations of The Woodlands, Michael Richmond of Woodforest National Bank, Frank Robinson of Town Center Improvement District, Steve Sanders of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital, Karen Smith of Drucker Rutledge and Smith L.L.P., Bob Udell of Consolidated Communications, Chip VanSteenberg of City of Shenandoah, and Gary Weaver of Halliburton.

The Economic Development Partnership is dedicated to promoting the economic development of South Montgomery County through the support of existing businesses and the recruitment of new businesses that can bring opportunities to the area.

“We are extremely enthused to announce our team of board members for the new fiscal year,” said Ron Bourbeau, chief executive officer of the EDP. “Their leadership, together with participation from our valued partners, is helping us to identify, plan and execute an array of strategic endeavors that are designed to further enhance the devel opment of South County and The Woodlands’ highly-successful business climate.”

The EDP serves as a gateway of information on topics ranging from demographics and population growth to incentives, labor market, and tax abatement policy, as well as informative profiles regarding the area’s infrastructure, workforce and higher education institutions.
