TCID Board honors Robert J. Heineman
The Town Center Improvement District Board of Directors today honored Robert J. Heineman, vice president of planning for The Woodlands Development Company for his contribution to the development of The Woodlands Town Center.
In a Special Meeting at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center, Mr. Heineman was honored as the primary architect of the creation of The Woodlands Waterway, the water taxis, Waterway Trolleys and more.
“We appreciate the vision and the commitment of Mr. Heineman,” said Nelda Luce Blair, Chairman of the Board, Town Center Improvement District. “He has made numerous contributions to creating a world-class community and regional destination.”
In the special proclamation presented by Chairman Blair, the Board of Directors commended Mr. Heineman “for enriching the lives of the citizens of Montgomery County, Texas, thereby making The Woodlands a beautiful place to invest, live, work, visit and play.”
Mr. Heineman, who was hired by The Woodlands' founder George P. Mitchell in 1972, is the vice president of planning for The Woodlands Development Company.
“For the past 35 years, The Woodlands has benefited from Robert Heineman's expertise in planning, design and the forging of public/private partnerships for the good of the community,” said Tim Welbes, co-president of The Woodlands Development Company. “We join the members of the TCID Board in saluting Robert and his many achievements.”
Frank W. Robinson, President, TCID, said “We are appreciative of Mr. Heineman's unique vision and dedication in the creation of the ‘downtown' area of The Woodlands. The Woodlands Town Center is truly a showcase for the world to see.”
Town Center Improvement District is a public entity committed to maintaining The Woodlands Town Center and surrounding area, as the best possible place in which to live, work, shop, and in vest.
