Town Center Improvement District to receive economic development award and honorable mention
The Woodlands, Texas, Economic Development Entity Recognized for its Annual Report and Newsletter
Acknowledging theTown Center Improvement District (TCID) for its 2004 Annual Report, the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) will present its annual report award to the The Woodlands, Texas-based organization at IEDC's Annual Conference, which is scheduled to take place in Chicago, Illinois, September 25-28. The organization will be recognized for this achievement during an awards ceremony on September 27th. TCID will also receive an Honorable Mention for its Town Center Reflections newsletter.
"Economic development pursuits have always played an invaluable role in strengthening the nation's economy one locality at a time, and as our country faces challenges ranging from an elevated national debt to a declining yet still significant unemployment rate, these efforts take on an even greater importance," said Steven J. Budd, IEDC chairman. "The award honors pace-setting organizations in economic development, an excellent example of which is TCID."
Competing in the category of outstanding annual report by organizations serving areas with populations of 50,000-200,000, TCID was a clear standout. TCID, which is instrumental in the development of the 1,000-acre Woodlands Town Center, produced a report addressing the organization's initiatives, highlighted by photos and quality graphic design. Additionally, the report contained a six-page color insert commemorating TCID's 10-year anniversary.
TCID will also receive an Honorable Mention in the newsletters/newspapers/magazines category for its Town Center Reflections newsletter, a four-color tabloid size publication containing the latest news of what's happening in the downtown area.
The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) is headquartered in Washington, DC. IEDC's professional economic development awards annually recognize excellence in the economic development profession.
