The Woodlands Mall to Host Sunburst Beauty Pageant And Baby Contest On Sunday, October 16

Babies, children, teens and young adults invited to participate

THE WOODLANDS MALL, Texas. September 26, 2005 – On Sunday, October 16 at 2:00 p.m. in the Future Court, The Woodlands Mall will host the Sunburst U.S.A. Beauty Pageant and Baby Contest. The Woodlands Mall pageant is open to area babies, children, teens and young adults and is a preliminary to the Sunburst State and International Finals.

The pageant includes a variety of categories for boys and girls aged infant to three years and for girls aged four to 27. Applications with detailed information including attire, categories and more are available at Customer Service in Center Court. There is a $40 entry fee.

“Last year, the Sunburst Pageant drew quite a crowd. Babies, children – teenagers. It was fun for both the participants and the spectators. And, this year as in the past, every entrant will win a trophy, so it’s a positive experience for everyone involved,” said Wendy Ellis, senior marketing manager for The Woodlands Mall. “We are pleased to have the pageant back at The Woodlands Mall and invite everyone to come, bring a camera and join the fun.”

Participants who win or place in any category during the Sunburst Pageant at The Woodlands Mall will be invited to compete for a share of $7,000 in cash and prizes at the Texas State Finals, held in Houston. The Woodland Malls winners and runners-up will have their $200 entry fee for the Texas State Finals paid.

Winners in the Texas State Finals will have the chance to advance to the International Finals in Atlanta, Georgia, where more than $35,000 in savings bonds and prizes will be awarded.

Registration begins at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 16 and the pageant begins at 2:00 p.m.
