Spotlight on the Arts at The Woodlands Mall Presents
On-Site Mural Project Saturday, April 28
Interfaith Seniors and Shoppers, Guided by Collaborative Artist, to Complete Mural; Musical Groups Perform

THE WOODLANDS, TX (April 19, 2012) From 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 28, 12 senior citizens from Interfaith in The Woodlands will gather in The Courtyard at The Woodlands Mall to complete a collaborative mural, Remember When. The senior artists, led by Vickie McMillan, wildlife conservation artist and collaborative community artist, will finish the mural, and shoppers are invited to pick up a paintbrush and work on the project with the group.

While the artists and shoppers paint, The John Cooper School Choir, Mitchell Intermediate Honor Orchestra and Maddison Urbanaski, a 12-year-old singer-songwriter, will perform.

The Remember When mural reflects what life was like for the senior artists in their days of youth, focusing on simplicity, family and values as compared to the fast way of life in today’s society. When the piece is completed, it will be displayed in The Spotlight on the Arts Gallery on the second floor of The Woodlands Mall, near the Food Court and later permanently installed at the Interfaith offices.

Spotlight on the Arts is a community project partly funded by The Woodlands Mall and designed in partnership with BAM!
